Number of advance voters abroad raises to 41,000

Over 41,000 persons turned out to vote during the advance voting in Finnish foreign missions abroad, reported national broadcaster Yle quoting the foreign ministry,

The figure was 5,600 higher than during the previous parliamentary elections in which 35,000 voted abroad.

The advance voting took place in 86 countries abroad, and there were a total of 219 polling stations. Also 213 Finnish crew members voted in the ships.

The most votes were cast in Sweden totalling 9873, followed by 7214 votes in Sweden, 2494 votes in Great Britain,1981 votes in German and 1950 voted in the United States.

Stockholm was the most active city during the advance voting with 3847 voters, followed by Fuengirola with 3650 votes and London which saw 1644 voters cast their ballot.
