Oulu sexual abuse trial begins

The District Court of Oulu on Monday began the trial of one of the men accused of sexual abuse of an underage girl, reported national broadcaster Yle.

A 21-year-old man from Afghanistan was arraigned before the court wearing a hooded jacket and covered his face with a scarf.

Together with seven other men of foreign background, he is accused of aggravated sexual abuse and aggravated rape of an underage girl for months.

Due to the sensitivity of the case, the proceeding was held in closed doors.

All the eight cases will be prosecuted separately.
