Suspected breach of election law under investigation

A suspected violation of the election law has been reported to the Parliamentary Ombudsman, reported Kaleva, a Finnish language daily.
The police are investigating the incident as distortion of election results.
According to the report, a dozen voters were turned away ahead of time at polling stations in Oulu and Jyväskylä two weeks ago during the parliamentary election advance voting.
The electoral law states that a voter who arrives at a polling station before its closure is entitled to vote.
The parliametary elections concluded just over a week ago.The Suomen Sosialidemokraattinen Puolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland -SDP) emerged as the largest party in parliament following the general election on Sunday, with 40 seats out of the 200 in total.
