SosialidemokraattinenPuolue (Social Democratic Party of Finland-SDP) Chair Antti Rinne on Tuesday said he expected to be informed by Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party of Finland) whether they are ready to enter into the ongoing coalition government formation talks, reported the national broadcaster Yle.
Rinne, however, did not reveal his preference of a coalition partner and neither did he reveal whether he preferred the Centre Party to KansallinenKokoomus (National Coalition Party) as a partner.
For their part, Keskusta have said that they will announce on Wednesday morning whether they are ready to enter negotiations to form a new government.
Rinne is expected to hold a briefing on Wednesday morning to reveal which parties will be invited to the official coalition formation talks.
Earlier on Sunday, Rinne said he expected the basis for coalition to become clear on Tuesday evening. Talks on Monday took longer as the SDP chair informed reporters at parliament that the time is taking longer because he wants assurances about the goals of the coalition.
So far, Rinne has held specific discussions with all the political parties.
