17 killed in road mishaps in April

At least 17 people were killed and 333 other injured in 278 road accidents in the country in April, according to Statistics Finland.

The number of persons killed was the same and that of persons injured three higher than in April 2018.

Of the persons who were killed, 11 travelled by private car, one by moped and three by motorcycle.

In addition, two other road users were killed.

A total of 57 persons were killed and 1,341 persons injured in 1,027 road traffic accidents took place from January to April period.

The number of persons killed was the same and that of persons injured three lower than in the corresponding period of 2018.

Of the persons who were killed, 42 travelled by private car, three by van, one by moped, three by motorcycle and two by lorry.

Pedestrians killed numbered three and cyclists one. In addition, two other road users were killed.
