European election advance voting surpasses previous poll

The turnout in this year's European parliamentary elections advance voting in Finland has exceeded the previous elections,reported national broadcaster Yle.
Over 897,000 Finns had cast their votes after the last day of day of advance voting on Tuesday.This figure is equivalent to 21 percent of those entitled to vote.
At 2 pm on Tuesday, already 18.2 percent of those entitled to vote had cast their ballot.This figure had already surpassed the total votes cast during the last European elections advance voting period.
During the last day of advance voting five years ago,17.4 percent of those entitled to vote had cast their ballot.
The busiest constituencies where voting took place were in Helsinki,Pirkanmaa and Lapland.
The official voting day is on May 26.
