President Sauli Niinistö on Thursday appointed Finland’s 75th government.

At the same time, the president released the ministers of Juha Sipilä’s government from their duties, said a government press release.

The government led by Prime Minister Antti Rinne has 19 ministers. The Social Democratic Party has seven ministers, the Centre Party five, the Greens in Finland three, the Left Alliance two, and the Swedish People’s Party of Finland two.

In its first plenary session on 6 June, Tuesday, the government made decisions on the division of duties among the ministers, the members of the statutory ministerial committees and the deputies for the ministers. The deputy for the prime minister will be Finance Minister Mika Lintilä. In the beginning of the session, seven ministers took their oath of office and judicial oath, while four other ministers made equivalent affirmations.
