Tourist bus crashes into tree in Helsinki

A tourist bus crashed into a tree in the city center of Helsinki on Tuesday, local media reported.

Esa Pennanen, commissioner at the Helsinki Police Department, told media that the bus lost control after the driver had got sick. In addition to the driver, there were 41 tourists in the bus.

According to Pennanen, the driver was seriously wounded and sent to hospital. The rescue service informed that 16 passengers were slightly injured.

Finnish Transport Agency said the traffic in downtown Helsinki was congested due to the accident.

There was no immediate information about the nationality of the passengers on board.
