Parliament gets 3 new MPs

Three lawmakers- two from Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party-NCP) and one from Vasemmistoliitto (Left Alliance)- started their duty in the parliament on Thursday.
Kokoomus leaders Atte Kaleva and Jari Kinnunen and Vasemmistoliitto leader Suldaan Said Ahmed, who were elected deputy lawmakers in the last parliamentary polls replaced three lawmakers of the respective parties, who left the parliament to take new responsibilities.
Kaleva and Ahmed represent the electoral district of Helsinki and Kinnunen the electoral district of Pirkanmaa.
Earlier, Anna-Kaisa Ikonen and Juhana Vartiainen of Kokoomus left the parliament as they started as the Mayor of Tampere and the mayor of Helsinki while Paavo Arhinmäki of Vasemmistoliitto left the parliament and started as the deputy Mayor of Helsinki.
The new MPs presented their credentials, verified by the Chancellor of Justice, to the Speaker of Parliament in the morning and the Speaker announced the new Members in the plenary session in the afternoon, said the parliament in a press release.
