First Lady expecting baby in Feb

President Sauli Niinistö and First Lady Jenni Haukio are expecting their first baby in February next year, said a press release issued by the President office on Monday.

“We are delighted to share our good news: if everything goes as expected, we will have an addition to our family in February 2018. We have been hoping for a child for a long time and have experienced many difficulties over those years. There have therefore been delicate issues related to the early days of the pregnancy, but we are able to share the news now,” Niinistö and Haukio commented on their announcement.

Terming the matter as a private family matter, the President couple said that it will not affect the President’s official duties.

Niinistö and Haukio got married on 3 January 2009. The child will be Haukio’s first and Niinistö’s third child, the press release added.
