Two held in Kempele operation

Police in Kempele on Sunday evening conducted an operation in Kempele after a suspected substance was hurled at a terraced house.

The police said they had detained two people on Sunday evening in connection with the incident, reported Finnish language daily Kaleva.

The police took precautionary measures by cordoning off and evacuating the Kokkangas area.

It, however, emerged during the operation that the substance hurled was harmless.

The police operation was carried out at 8 pm on Sunday. According to the police, the operation did not pose danger to bystanders.

There were also rescue department units at the scene.

The operation was called off at around 10:30 pm. The police will divulge more details on Monday.
