Finland sends more defence materiel assistance to Ukraine

The President on Thursday approved a proposal of the government that Finland will send more defence materiel assistance to Ukraine, said the Ministry of Defence in a press release.

To ensure that the assistance reaches its destination, more detailed information on the content, manner of delivery or schedule of the assistance will not be provided.

Both Ukraine's needs and the resources of the Defence Forces have been taken into account when deciding on Finland's additional assistance.

Following Russia's military aggression, Ukraine has requested materiel assistance from the EU and NATO Member States.

“Finland has supported Ukraine in many ways, including with defence materiel. Ukraine is in a great need for additional assistance. We will increase the amount of defence materiel assistance we send to Ukraine,” said Minister of Defence Antti Kaikkonen.

Earlier in late April, Finland also sent more defence materiel assistance to Ukraine.
