Finland monitors reported missile attacks in Poland

Finland expressed concern over the incident of reported missile attacks in Poland and the country is monitoring the situation closely.

President Sauli Niinistö, Prime Minister Sanna Marin and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in separate twitter posts termed the news as worrying and keeping close monitoring on the situation to get more information in this regard.

“The news from Poland is worrying. Now it is very much important to get accurate and confirmed information before reaching to a conclusion. The situation is being monitored closely,” Niinistö wrote in his twitter in Finnish late Tuesday night.

The Prime Minister in her twitter post wrote late Tuesday also said the news coming from Poland is serious.

“Finland is closely monitoring the situation in Poland and is waiting for further information on the events,” Marin wrote in her twitter in Finnish, adding the assurance of standing by Poland.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Finland is also following the situation closely and maintaining communication with the Finnish Embassy to Warsaw.

“MFA follows closely the worrying news from Poland. FM Haavisto has been in touch with the Embassy of Finland in Warsaw and other foreign ministers. We are waiting for more detailed information from Poland and from our partners,” the Ministry wrote in a twitter post late Tuesday night.

Russian missile strikes reported have crossed into Poland, killing two people, reported DW, quoting news agency Associated Press (AP) on Tuesday.

Polish media reported that two people died Tuesday afternoon after a projectile struck Przewodow, a Polish village near the border with Ukraine.
