2 gunned down, 1 wounded in Kajaani

Two people were killed, and another was injured in an incident of gunfire at Purola area in Kajaani on Sunday morning, police said.

The incident took place at about 9:00 in the morning in a private apartment at the locality.

Responding to a call from the emergency service, the law-enforcers rushed to the spot and found the bodies of the two deceased and the other person who sustained bullet wounds.

“Based on the circumstances, the police suspect that one of the deceased likely might occur the incident,” Chief Investigative Officer Timo Heikkinen said in an official statement released on Sunday evening.

The police, however, did not divulge the identities of the victims and the suspect.

The police are investigating into the case as murder and attempted murder.

At the preliminary stage, the police did not disclose anything more in this regard.
