Elderly man killed in Tampere apartment fire

An elderly person was killed in a fire at an apartment of a residential building at Nekala in Tampere on Wednesday.
Police said that the fire broke out at about 11:00 am and the smoke engulfed the apartment of the building at Karukantie area.
An elderly man, resident of the apartment died in the fire.
Responding to an alarm, rescue service personnel and police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of deceased.
The police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the victim.
The reason behind the origin of the fire could not be known immediately but after the preliminary investigation police did not find any crime link to the incident.
The police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire.
