Finland to send more defence materials to Ukraine

Finland is preparing to send more defence materials to Ukraine and the government will take decision in this regard in the coming weeks, according to the newly appointed Defence Minister, Mikko Savola.

The Minister in a twitter post on Saturday wrote that the contents of the support, however, will not be disclosed due to security ground.

“Finland supports Ukraine. We are preparing the 12th support package. Decisions will be made in the coming weeks. the content of the support is being prepared together with the Defence Forces, considering that we do not weaken our own defence capability,” wrote Savola in his twitter post in Finnish.

Mikko Savola, lawmaker of the Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party), the second largest component of the five-party alliance government took over as the Minister of Defence on Thursday.

In December 2022, Finland sent buses to Ukraine to be used to transport children and young people to school.

Earlier in November, 2022, Finland sent more medical, protective gears to Ukraine.

Previously, Finland sent arms, defence materials, protective gears etc to Ukraine on several occasions.
