The police are investigating into the death of a woman while arresting by security guards at Iso Omena shopping centre in Espoo on Saturday afternoon as suspected murder, said police in a press release on Sunday.
A criminal case was lodged in connection with the incident and after the preliminary investigation police found basis to suspect several people of murder.
The police also suspected that the security guards applied force when they were arresting the woman.
Many eyewitnesses who took videos and photos by their mobile phones during the incident gave statements to police and people are also urged to give more information in this regard by sending email or making phone call.
The investigation is going on and police will inform more detail about the incident after getting forensic report at the beginning of this week.
Police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased or describe detail about the incident.
Local media quoting eye accounts reported that two security guards knocked down the woman and pushed her on the ground as she did not pay heed to their order. Later two or three more guards rushed to the spot and sat on the woman and put handcuff.
An eyewitness told a Finnish language evening tabloid Ilta-Sanomat that the woman did not behave aggressively during the incident.
