2 killed in Sotkamo road accident

Two people were killed in a road accident in Sotkamo on Sunday, reported local media.

The accident took place at around 3:30 pm along Kontiomäentie road when a private car slid and crashed into the front of another car. The victims were on the side of the overturned car.

There were two people riding in each of the two cars involved in the crash.

According to the chief fire fighter, the road at the time of the accident was slippery. The temperature was around zero degrees Celsius at the scene of accident.

The police are continuing with the investigation.

In another incident, 11 people suffered minor injuries following an accident involving three cars along Lahdenväylä motorway. According to MTV news, they were examined in an ambulance and were not taken to a hospital.
