The Police permanently cancelled a total of 753 licences for people working for private security companies during the last year, said the National Police Board (NPB) in a press release on Tuesday.
The decisions were taken due to violent behavior, involvement in crime activities and abusing power by the private security people.
The police also temporary cancelled 10 permits and issued 100 warnings to the license holders.
The police issued a total of 64,452 permits for the private security sector in 2022, the press release added.
Earlier, Interior Minister Krista Mikkonen sought information about the private security guards from the NPB following a series of incidents of applying force by security guards, reported national broadcaster Yle on Tuesday.
Uusimaa police in December investigated into the suspected involvement of security guards in the incident of assaults near train stations in Helsinki region, said the report.
Meanwhile, controversy raised over the role of security guards following the death of a woman at Iso Omena shopping centre in Espoo on January 7.
The woman died when the security guards were arresting her inside the shopping centre.
The police are investigating into the death as suspected murder.
