Fraud in guise of police embezzles money from couple in Isojoki

An incident of fraudulence took place at the residence of an elderly couple recently where the fraud in guise of police embezzled money from their bank accounts after collecting bank card and credentials.

The incident occurred at on January 12 at Isojoki, a municipality in South Ostrobothnia region, said police in a press release on Monday.

The man of about 40-45 years rushed to the door of the elderly couple in between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm on the day and collected their bank cards and accounts credentials identifying himself as police.

Police said that the fraud managed to take money from the bank accounts of the couple.

The police are asking information from the people about the fraud, a tall man who was wearing dark pants and a yellow vest.

The frauds target the elderly people for such fraudulences and communicate with them over phone or direct contact, said police.

Police also warned the people that on the duty police never ask for bank card, pin code or online banking credentials from people.
