1 stabbed to death in Tampere, suspect held

One person was killed and another injured in an incident of stabbing at Lielahti area in Tampere on Tuesday afternoon, police said in a press release.

The incident took place at about 5:00 pm in front of Prisma at the area when two people engaged in a fighting using sharp knife.

Responding to an alarm from a bystander, rescue services people and police rushed to the spot and found that both of them sustained knife wounds.

One of them was injured critically and succumbed to the wounds on the spot despite giving first aid.

The police arrested the rest one person as suspect of the murder.

Police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased and detail of the incident.

There was also another person in the incident and police are investigating into the involvement of the third person in the fighting.
