Number of robberies goes up by 23.3% in 2022

A total of 473,100 offences against the Criminal Code were recorded by the police, customs and border guard in 2022, according to Statistics Finland.

The number is two per cent fewer than one year earlier. The number of robbery offences increased by 23.3 per cent. Good 2,300 of them were recorded.

Recorded offences against life numbered 85, which is two cases more than in the year before.

The recorded number of sexual abuses of a child was 2,326, which is 11.3 per cent more than in the year before.

A total of 1,678 rapes were reported, which is 9.3 per cent fewer than in the year before.

The number of break-ins into houses and free-time residences reported was 3,600. This is 7.8 per cent fewer than in the year before.
