Finland, Estonia vow continuous support to Ukraine

Foreign Ministers of Finland and Estonia on Wednesday reiterated to continue the ongoing support to Ukraine.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Haavisto met with his Estonian counterpart Urmas Reinsalu in Tallinn and discussed various issues including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, European security, Finland’s NATO membership process and oil price cap.

“ Excellent meeting in Tallinn with my Estonia'n colleague Urmas Reinsalu. Useful talks with a close neighbour on bilateral & security issues, including Nato process of Finland and Sweden. Strong support for Ukraine will continue,“ Finnish Foreign Ministry wrote in a twitter post, qouting Haavisto as saying.

“ When meeting Finnish FM Haavisto, we focused on further support for Ukraine, raising the cost of war for Russia, incl. lowering the oil PriceCap, ensuring accountability for war & aggression crimes in ????kraine,“ Reinsalu wrote in his twitter, expressing hope that Finland. Sweden NATO accession will soon be ratified.

During his visit to Estonia Haavisto also met President of Estonia Alar Karis and discussed various issues.

“ Very good to speak today with Estonian President AlarKaris. Excellent discussions on topical foreign and security policy issues. Bilateral relations with Estonia are very close,“ said Haavisto.

The Foreign Minister also visited Riga on Wednesday and met President of Latvia Egils Levits and Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs.
