Ice on Kemijoki river still weak :Police

The police on Sunday cautioned the public not to walk on Kemijoki river near the city centre of Rovaniemi, said a police bulletin.
On Saturday night the police were forced to herd off people from the frozen river.The section of the river is popular with tourists.
According to the police, the river near the city centre is extremely treacherous and the ice bed is not necessary suitable to tread.
The police were kept busy on Saturday night following several cases of assault and disruptive behaviour.
