Pieksämäki accident leaves woman dead

A woman was killed in a road accident in Pieksämäki on Tuesday, said a police bulletin.
The woman was run over by a car after she tried to cross the road having alighted from a bus.
According to eye witnesses account, the woman left the bus stop and ran to cross the road but was hit by an oncoming car.
The 1960s born woman succumbed to her injuries.
The Eastern Finland Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation and it is investigating, among other things, how the actions of the those involed affected led to the accident.
