Finland opens consulate general in Mumbai, India

Finland opened a consulate general at Mumbai in India, according to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari inaugurated the consulate general on Friday night during his visit to India, said the ministry in a twitter post.

“Tonight (Friday) we celebrate the inauguration of the Consulate General of Finland in #Mumbai #India. It's a great pleasure to open this mission. I encourage Indian and Finnish companies & state representatives to use the Consulate General as a channel to promote their interests,” the ministry wrote in the twitter post, quoting Skinnari as saying.

Mumbai is India’s financial centre and the capital of the state of Maharashtra that has a population of more than 120 million people.

Finland’s Consulate General in Mumbai will have strong focus on commercial and economic cooperation, said the ministry in a previous press release.
