Bus services will resume as the Finnish Transport Workers’ Union (Auto- ja Kuljetusalan Työntekijäliitto- AKT) has decided to withdraw the strike begun across the country on March 1.
The AKT took the decision following a fruitful discussion with the representatives of the bus sector late Friday night.
“AKT and the employers association have reached an understanding on the collective agreements of bus staff and maintenance workshops. The AKT board has approved the agreements. The strikes will end,” said AKT in a twitter post just before the mid night between Friday and Saturday.
Earlier, negotiator Jukka Ahtela in a twitter post wrote late Friday night that both the parties reached an understanding and the strike would be ended, if it is accepted by AKT board.
The strike has begun at 3:00 am. on March 1 and scheduled to continue until March 10 at 3:00 am.
Earlier on February 28, the union also called off the strike at the heavy goods vehicle sector following negotiation with the employers.
