Elderly man burnt to death in house fire at Siikalatva

An elderly man was burnt to death when a fire broke out in a detached house at Piippola area in Siikalatva, a municipality under Pohjois-Pohjanmaa region on Thursday morning, police said.

Responding to an alarm Rescue Services personnel and police rushed to the spot and found that the house was gutted by this time.

The elderly man, resident of the house died in the fire and rescue service people recovered his body from the debris.

The police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the deceased.

The reason behind the fire could not be known and police and rescue service people are investigating into the incident to find out the origin of the fire.

After the preliminary investigation the police did not suspect any crime link to the fire incident.
