Finland slams St Petersburg terrorist attack

Finland on Monday condemned the incident of explosion in St. Petersburg in Russia and expressed shock and empathy to the family of the victims.

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä has conveyed his condolences to his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev on behalf of the Finnish government following the terrorist attack in a metro in St Petersburg, said an official press release.

The prime minister expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims and to all of those affected by this tragic event.

“[I am] Shocked to hear about the explosions in the St. Petersburg metro. Sincere condolences to the families and friends of those affected,” Sipilä said in a twitter post after the incident.

At least 11 people were killed and 45 other wounded in the explosion of an unknown explosive device with destructive elements in St. Petersburg on Monday afternoon.
