The website of the Finnish parliament remained inaccessible from Tuesday afternoon following a denial of service attack, parliament sources said.

Normal functioning of the website, however, was restored late Tuesday night at about 8:00 pm, said the parliament in a press release.

A denial-of-service attack targeted the Parliament website on Tuesday, said the press release, adding that the attack started approximately at midday.

“During the denial-of-service attack, the Parliament website was either unresponsive or functioned slowly,” the press release added.

The authority reported the denial-of-service attacks to the police.

A Russian hacker group NoName057(16) on its Telegram channel claimed the responsibility for the attack resulting down the website, reported national broadcaster Yle.

Earlier on August 9, 2022, the parliament website came under cyber attack when a Russian hacker group NoName057(16) claimed the responsibility for the attack.
