2 killed in bus-car collision in Ylivieska

Two people were killed and several injured in a road accident in Ylivieska, a municipality under North Ostrobothnia region on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The accident took place on Haapavesitie road at about 3:30pm when a private car with two people onboard collided head on with a bus coming from opposite direction.

Both the people in the car died on the spot in the accident. The driver and some passengers of the bus, laden with six people, were slightly injured.

The Police, however, did not divulge details about the deceased.

The reason behind the accident could not be known immediately.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
