Finland on Friday condemned the rocket fires from Gaza and Lebanon to Israel and expressed shock at the violence in Al-Aqsa mosque by Israeli police, said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
“We condemn indiscriminate rocket fire from Gaza and Lebanon to Israel. We are appalled by Israeli police violence in Al-Aqsa mosque. The status quo and Jordan's role must be respected,” the ministry wrote in a twitter post.
Terming the spiral of retaliations as dangerous, the ministry also urged all the parties to de-escalate the situation.
“Leaders on all sides must de-escalate. Constructive tone is needed. The spiral of retaliations is dangerous,” the twitter post added.
Several rockets were fired from the Lebanese district of Marjeyoun into northern Israel on Thursday evening, reported Xinhua.
It came after dozens of rockets were fired into Israel from Lebanon, prompting the Israeli army to shell the outskirts of the southern Lebanese town of al-Qulayla with artillery.
Israeli police raided Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City and clashed with dozens of Palestinian worshippers on Tuesday night.
