Mortality rate grows by 9.6% in Finland in 2022

The number of deaths in 2022 was 63,219, which is 5,560 more than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.

In turn, provisional life expectancy at birth was 78.6 years for boys and 83.8 years for girls in 2022.

For boys, life expectancy decreased by 0.52 years and for girls by 0.67 years compared with 2021.

The number of deaths grew by 9.6 per cent from the previous year.

Infant mortality went up slightly from the year before.
