Biden likely to visit Helsinki in July

US President Joe Biden is considering a visit to Finland, the newest member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), reported US based television NBC.

The visit will coincide with the upcoming NATO summit scheduled to be held in Vilnius on July 11 and 12, said the NBC report, quoting US officials.

The White House’s discussions of a potential visit have been ongoing for several months and remain active, according to the officials, who said no final decision has been made, the report added.

Earlier in July, 2018, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Helsinki and held their first meeting.

Biden also visited Finland in 2011 when he was the Vice President of USA.
