Finland condoles at shootings in Serbia

President Sauli Niinistö on Friday expressed profound shock at the deaths of 17 people in two separate incidents of mass shootings in Serbia on Friday and Wednesday.

The President sent a condolence letter to his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić expressing his shock at the shootings in Belgrade and Mladenovac.

“President Niinisto has sent a letter to President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, expressing his deepest condolences for the tragic shootings in Belgrade and Mladenovac,” said the President Office in a twitter post on Friday.

At least eight people were killed and 13 others wounded in a shooting in Serbian villages near the town of Mladenovac, some 60 km south of Belgrade.

Earlier on Wednesday, a shooting occurred at the Vladislav Ribnikar elementary school in Serbia's Municipality of Vracar, killing nine people and injuring seven others.
