1 burnt to death in Helsinki building fire

One person was killed in a fire at an apartment building at Pakila, a neighbourhood in Northern Helsinki area on Monday afternoon, police said in a press release.

The fire broke out at about 4:00 pm and engulfed the apartment of the building immediately.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and found that one person was already burnt to death.

Rescue service people recovered the body from the debris.

Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the decease.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.

Police and rescue service people are investigating into the incident to find out the origin of the fire.
