Probe into training fighter jet crash begins

The Finnish Air Force formed an investigating committee to probe into the Monday´s crash of a Hawk training fighter jet, said Air Force on Tuesday

Headed by Lieutenant Colonel Juha Vantila of the Military Aviation Authority, Finland (FIMAA), the committee started its investigation into the accident, the Air Force wrote in a twitter post.

“An air accident investigation into the accident of the Hawk jet trainer that happened yesterday (Monday), May 15 has been launched. An investigation team has been formed for the investigation, led by engineer lieutenant colonel Juha Vantila of the military aviation authority unit,” said the twitter post written in Finnish.

The training Hawk fighter jet of Finnish Air Force crashed at Keuruu, a municipality in Central Finland on Monday afternoon.

Both the pilots in aircraft, however, managed to escape in their ejection seats before the crash.
