8 killed in road mishaps in April

At least eight persons were killed and 227 others injured in 169 road accidents in April in the country, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of persons killed was four lower and that of persons injured 13 lower than in April 2022.
Of the deceased, three travelled by passenger car and five by van. No pedestrians or cyclists died in April.
Among those who died, six were men and two were women.
In January-April period, at least 39 persons were killed and 865 persons injured in 667 road traffic accidents in the country.
The number of persons killed was six lower and that of persons injured 56 lower than in the corresponding period of 2022.
Of the persons who were killed, 20 travelled by passenger car and seven by van. Pedestrians killed numbered five and cyclists three. In addition, four other road users were killed.
