Number of robberies by underage boys rises alarmingly

There were 2,200 suspects in robberies solved in 2022, which is 16.9 per cent more than in the year before. According to Statistics Finland.

Slightly under 2,000 of the suspects were men.

Number of persons aged under 15 suspected of solved robberies grew by 136 per cent.

There were 269 persons aged under 15 suspected of robberies and 252 of them were boys.

The victim of robberies committed by persons aged under 15 was most often a boy aged between 12 and 14.

The number of suspects of solved assaults was 24,700, which is 1.1 per cent more than in the year before.
