The City Hall will serve international and domestic media during the visit of US President Joe Biden, hosted by President Sauli Niinistö, and the US–Nordic Leaders’ Summit on 12–13 July, said the city in a press release on Monday.

The City Hall will be closed to outsiders from Wednesday to Friday, 12–14 July.

During the presidential visit, the area around the City Hall will be subject to extensive access restrictions, and the City Hall is located inside the perimeter to be closed to outsiders.

The police will partially or completely restrict access to the area around City Hall on 12–13 July with the exception of Sofiankatu, which will hold the entrance to the City Hall’s media centre.

Katariinankatu is open for pedestrians, but access is from Aleksanterinkatu.

The media centre will serve the media on Wednesday starting from the afternoon and all day on Thursday.

Palmia’s lunch restaurant at City Hall will also be closed on 12–13 July.

Due to the visit, the City Registry Office’s customer service centre will operate in the lobby of Aschan House (Apteekin talo, Pohjoisesplanadi 13–15) 12–14 July from 8.15 to 16.00.

The Registry Office’s telephone and email services will operate as normal.

President of the United States Joe Biden will visit Finland on July 13.
