1 killed in road mishap in Oripää

One person was killed in a road accident near Myllykylä area in Oripää, a municipality in Southwest Finland on Monday, police said.

The accident took place on Kantatie road at the area when two private cars collided head-on at about 12:00 O’clock.

An elderly person was killed on the spot in the accident.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the deceased.

The police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the victim.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
