Man killed in ATV-truck collision in Laitila

One person was killed in a collision between an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a truck in Laitila, a municipality in Southwest Finland region on Friday afternoon, police said in a press release.

The accident took place at about 1:30 pm when the ATV collided head-on with the truck coming from opposite direction on Pirttikyläntie road at the area.

Driver of the ATV, a middle-aged man was killed on the spot in the accident.

Responding to an alarm police and rescue service people rushed to the scene and recovered the body from there.

The Police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased.

After the preliminary investigation, police said that the ATV was running on the wrong side of the road due to unknown reason.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason and circumstances surrounding the accident.
