1 killed in road mishap in Kuhmoinen

One person was killed in a road accident near Koukanniemi in Kuhmoinen, a municipality in Pirkanmaa region on Monday, police said.

The accident took place at about 11:30 am when a private car skidded off the road and collided with a truck coming from opposite direction.

Driver of the car was killed on the spot in the accident.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the deceased.

The police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the victim.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
