The Ministry for Foreign Affairs proposed an increase to some of the prices of services provided by Finland’s missions abroad and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, said the ministry in a press release on Tuesday.
The decree of the ministry on fees for Services produced by the foreign service will be submitted for consideration by the Ministerial Finance Committee on Thursday.
The new prices would enter into force on Friday.
According to the proposal, the price of a passport issued by a mission would rise to EUR 235 from the existing EUR 175 while the prices of notarial services would increase by EUR 10–20.
On the other hand, the price of an identity card issued by a mission would decrease from EUR 96 to EUR 60.
These changes will bring the prices of services provided by the Foreign Service closer to their cost price.
The adjustments to the fees are based on the cost-price principle under the Act on Criteria for Charges Payable to the State and the general rise in costs.
