1 killed, 2 injured in road mishap in Ulvila

One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on Tampere- Pori road in Ulvila on Wednesday, said police in a press release.

The accident took place at about 11:00 a.m. when a van coming from the direction of Pori skidded off the road and collided with a private car coming from the opposite direction of Tampere near intersection of Saarikoskentie.

One person was killed and two were injured in the accident.

The police, however, did not divulge the identities of the victims and did not specify whether the deceased was onboard the van or car.

Responding to an alarm, rescue service people and police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and the wounded people.

The injured were admitted to the hospital but their condition is not life threatening, said police.

The Accident Investigation Board and Police are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the death and circumstances surrounding the accident.
