Hundreds stage demo in Helsinki protesting Israeli attacks in Gaza

Several hundreds of people on Friday staged a demonstration at Helsinki city centre protesting against the Israeli attacks in Gaza.

The demonstrators gathered in front of the central railway station (Rautatientori ) at about 6:00pm with the slogans “Stop the genocide of Palestinians” and “Save Gaza” and brought out a procession which ended at Simonkatu via Kaivokatu, Mikonkatu, Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie.

The protesters bearing Palestinian flags and various banners and festoon held a rally after the procession where the speakers strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza resulting death of several thousands of innocent people including children.

They also demanded immediate stop of the killings in the region by the Israeli military.

According to police, about one thousand people participated in the protest and it was ended peacefully.
