13 killed in road mishaps in September

A total of 13 persons were killed and 359 others injured in 302 road accidents in Finland in September, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of deaths was two lower and that of persons injured 16 higher than in September 2022.
Out of people who were killed, seven travelled by passenger car and two by motorcycle. Two pedestrians and two cyclists were also killed in road mishaps in September.
Among the deceased nine were men and four were women.
Meanwhile, a total of 128 persons were killed and 2,705 injured in 2,195 road traffic accidents from January to September.
The number of persons killed was 16 lower and that of persons injured 213 lower than in the corresponding period of 2022.
Of the persons who were killed, 65 travelled by passenger car, 12 by van, one by moped and 16 by motorcycle. Pedestrians killed numbered 15 and cyclists 10. In addition, nine other road users were killed.
