Finnish govt building lit up in red marking Turkey´s centenary

Finland on Sunday congratulated the Turkey on the occasion of its 100^th anniversary, said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in a post on social media X.

“The Merikasarmi building of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs is lit up in honour of the occasion,” the ministry wrote in the post.

The Embassy of Finland in Ankara and Ambassador-designate Pirkko Hämäläinen in a message congratulated Turkey.

“On behalf of the embassy of Finland in Ankara I congratulate the Republic of Turkiye and the Turkish people on the anniversary of its centenary,” Hämäläinen told in a video message posted in X, adding that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk set the foundation for the country´s success, which continues to effect Turkiye to this day.

She also pointed out the beginning of the new century also keeps the reason to celebrate the 100 years anniversary of signing the friendship agreement between Turkey and Finland next year.

“We would like to congratulate you on this day and wish you continued success,” Hämäläinen added.
