1 killed in road mishap at Eno, man burnt to death in Turku

One person was killed in a road accident at Eno in Joensuu late Saturday night, police said in a press release on early Sunday.

The accident took place when a private car skidded off the road and collided with a roadside tree on Ahvenisentie road at the locality.

Driver of the car, who was alone onboard, was killed on the spot in the accident.

Police and rescue department people rushed to the spot and recovered the body from there.

Police, however, did not divulge the identity of the deceased.

Police and the Accident Investigation Board are investigating into the accident to find out the reason behind it.

Meanwhile, in another accident, a man was killed in a fire at an apartment of a residential building at Luolavuori area in Turku late Saturday night.

The fire broke out at about 7:30 pm and engulfed the fifth floor of the eight-storey building immediately.

Rescue service personnel rushed to the spot responding to a call and recovered the body of the man from there.

Police, did not disclose the identity of the victim and the origin of the fire.

Police, however, did not suspect any crime link to the fire.

They are investigating into the incident to find out the reason behind the fire.
