Finland condoles at Prague university shooting victims

President Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Petteri Orpo on Thursday expressed condolence at the deaths of people in shooting at a university in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic.

The President sent a letter to his Czech Republic counterpart Petr Pavel expressing his condolences for the tragic incident, said the President Office in a post in social media platform X late Thursday night.

“President Niinistö has sent a letter to President of the Czech Republic Pavel expressing his deepest condolences for the tragic shooting in Prague,” said the President Office.

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo also expressed profound shock at the deaths of people in the shooting and condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

“Shocked by the news about shooting at Charles University in Prague. My deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and to the Czech people. Wishing a speedy recovery to those injured,” Orpo wrote in a post in his social media platform X late Thursday night.

At least 14 people were killed in a university shooting in the Czech capital Prague on Thursday.
